We want families, educators, researchers, and homebuyers with different abilities and technologies to be able to use the same school information.
Our accessibility target
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA where practical. This statement describes a continuing product goal, not a claim that every page is perfectly conformant.
Features built into the site
- Semantic headings, landmarks, lists, tables, labels, and breadcrumb navigation.
- A keyboard-visible skip link and focus indicators.
- Keyboard operation for search suggestions and interactive ranking tools.
- Text alternatives for meaningful editorial images and hidden decorative images.
- Responsive layouts that support mobile screens and browser zoom.
- Plain-language labels for missing data and source dates.
- Static state navigation when JavaScript is unavailable.
Known challenges
Large comparison tables may require horizontal scrolling on small screens. Some linked school or government websites are outside our control. A national directory of this size can also expose unusual school names or source values that require case-by-case review.
Report a barrier
Email contact@usschoolratings.com with the page URL, what you were trying to do, what happened, and—if you are comfortable sharing it—your browser, device, and assistive technology. We will use that information to reproduce and prioritize the issue.
If email is not accessible to you, ask a trusted person to contact us on your behalf while we work toward offering additional contact methods.
